this past weekend i hosted my (let’s be dramatic here) 2nd annual favorite things galentine’s day party.
why am i pro-g’day gift exchange? let’s face it, the holidays are way too busy. october, november, december (Q4 if that’s your lingo) is jam packed with events and gift buying to the max.
so, by the time february rolls around, we’ve recovered from the holidays emotionally, physically and financially (i’d hope).
favorite things are nothing new so why am i writing a whole ‘stack dedicated to it? because this year mine turned into a blood bath!
okay, not literally, but the steals were stealing (for lack of a better term)! there were rapidly “frozen” items. there were gasps! there was drama! there was even a rock-paper-scissors war (which i was personally rooting to turn into an arm wrestle…others were heckling for real wrestling)!
you can’t tell how rowdy it was from the photos above, but let me tell you…a good time was had.
so, i feel it’s my duty to share the blood-bath-worthy $20 gifts that had the girlies throwing arms (rock, paper, scissors bearing arms that is).
so i went outside the $20, but other people did too and who cares about rules. my favorite thing was infused brightland olive oil. i went with the chili infused and the lemon infused. different use cases. equally fabulous.
salt & stone santal & vetiver hand lotion. the reviews are in and it’s hydrating, but not greasy and smells incredible.
the biodance toner pads have resulted in “a noticeable difference in two days”. i also left the partay (well stayed home after) with this one and i’d echo this stamp of approval.
ranavat saffron and turmeric serum was passed around for smelling amazing. nsfw things were said about this serum in the recap grext.
dieux reusable forever eye masks! as a massive dieux fan, you know i tried to steal these before they were stolen again.
beauty of joseon sunscreen, but (importantly!) in the korean formulation!
a massive maldon salt tub. pairs well with olive and truly anything else you can think of. also importantly paired with a tiny tin (that was deemed also “perfect for big pills”. so fair!) and stickers to decorate.
the noyz discovery kit. i’ve tried some of their solids and it was fun to check out different scents. you already know these were also passed around.
the refy lip gloss with hyaluronic acid. i’ve been wanting to try this one for months and am glad to report back that i did take it home. i’m even happier to report back, it lives up to the hype.
amika dry shampoo. the icon herself. you know her. she also looks like summer in an aerosol form.
a product that was fully new to me that’s also getting rave reviews in the grext: lawless skin lip plumping mask (apparently, not to be used before spicy pepperoni. you and i have both been warned).
kettl matcha chocolate! so lux! they also have a hojicha chocolate i’m incredibly interested in.
